Its Simple... Part one my road to MINIMALISM!

I'm well on my road to minimalism, don't get me wrong it's not easy, but all the worth while things in life never are.  I bagged up 4 huge bags of clothes, nick knacks, bags, and shoes, which whilst they were sitting there, a little devil on my shoulder did keep whispering.."do you really want to get rid of that dress, oooh that bag was lovely, and Oh those shoes!"  But I was strong, its not that bad and the angel on my other shoulder won, it will be good for someone else to benefit from them, honest!, Then my lovely Hubby asked "are you really going to get rid of All that stuff?", I honestly think he was shocked, seeing as in all the years we have shared a wardrobe, well I accommodated 70% to his 30%, (he may say 80%to20%).  Now he actually has his own wardrobe, yes to all you husbands and partners, it can be done, over time you can  persuade them that minimalism is the way to go!

Love 💖 this quote "minimalism is really a way to maximise enjoyment of what we do have"

There is something quite 'freeing' about decluttering, and walking in a room to see a few beautiful items, and being able to do your housework in half the time, no ornaments to dust, simply a clean open space, fresh clear kitchen worktops, not filled with every gadget known to man, which lets face it are hardly used, I refuse to own a microwave, haven't had one for years, much to hubby and daughters despair! two reasons really, one, i personally feel they are bad for us, all those waves flying about and in our food! and two, well they are a bit bulky for my liking, take up far too much space in any kitchen.you really don't need one. heat up your beans in a pot just like the good ole days!

There are quite a few trends in 2017 about this subject .
The  Scandinavian word Hooge meaning enjoyment of : Simplistic, little things in life, light those candles, pop on your favourite record, (yes records remember those crackly songs we fondly listened to), cuddle up on the sofa with a blanket, hot chocolate and marshmallows.
It appears that in all the craziness of life , mobile phones tablets, facebook, instagram snapchat, we have let these Simple but important things slip into the back of our minds.

Another Scandinavian word Lagom meaning a work/life balance, Happiness and Frugality
and my favourite part...

                                                            NOT TOO MUCH...
                                                            NOT TOO LITTLE...

now I think this could mean different things to different people, theres no right or wrong meaning , its all about your own interpretation, and whats right for you, for your well being at your time in your life. For me its spending time with my favs, Hubby, daughter, Miss Darcy & my wonderful friends.
I love walking along the beach just me and Darcy remembering my 'MINDFULNESS', simply listening to the waves, and 'Being' in the moment, for me Thats Just Enough.

I could write about this forever , it would be great to discuss how you feel about minimalism, could it be something for you, or do you have strong views on why you could never change ? please comment below or email me glamfairyx@gmail.com

  1. This is a very good article. You cover a lot of ideas that make so much sense. Very inspiring, like a kick-start. Thank you for sharing your valuable insights and progress. I so want to declutter but find it very difficult to make decisions. It's hard to get rid of perfectly good stuff, I find.

  2. Hi there(sorry your name didn't come up on post) thankyou for taking time to read my post. Your journey to minimalism , I believe should start with maybe writing down Why ? Why you want to start, and then once you start believe me you will be looking for things to throw out! Your things are valuable to you but also will help someone else, and you learn that things won't hold the sentiment any more, but creating memories will. And de cluttering will give you the space and time you need to create them. Please read my next part of my journey for tips, and if you need any more advice or guidance please ask I'm here!
