NorthCoast 500 Part 2

Now I can honestly say Miss Darcy is enjoying this road trip just as much as we are...

And around every corner its another of natures miracle , to stop and admire.  As I've previously mentioned Mr P and I are planners, so we had our route mapped out, But nothing prepared us for what was to come!

We made our way to start the glorious Northcoast 500, and started our decent up the infamous AppleCross Pass, which simply took our breathe away, to say its Hairy, scary is an understatement , I certainly wouldn't have wanted to attempt it in our Hire Campervan two years ago.  There are various passing bays, which is needed as the road is literally winding upwards, with a clear view over the edge, No barrier! You've seen the films right! well its exactly the dame, but scarier! And also exciting at the same time, the views are second to none.

So after our exciting day we found the perfect spot for the night, once again using the wonderful app Park4night.   shieldaig, well noone could've told us what was to come...we were woken around midnight to 45 mph winds. Yes I was a little scared, Georgie was actually rocking (no comments please ) and Mr p put sown the pop top which helped a little, but it got worse as the winds and rain were getting heavier, I had visions of us ending up in the beautiful Loch we had been admiring earlier. so decided to move, poor Mr P he moved the van, pitch black of night, me and Miss Darcy still in bed! but we felt so much safer, nearer some trees and shelter.

Then in the morning we both decided to find a campsite to chill, and start again.  Thankfully we had given ourselves plenty of time on our trip to rearrange our adventure.  As you will learn if you embark on this trip, Scotland has its own weather agenda. And a top tip.....always check the weather, a few times, its changes so much.

So we booked into http://www.ardtower-caravanpark.com/ which was a welcome Calm, we spent the day and evening chilling, had a wonderful shower and gathered our thoughts.

Then on we went, restarting our travels, the right way round this time.

We travelled upto The most Northerly point in Uk.....No not John O Groats as many think, its actually

Dunnet Head which , wow was a little Windy. But stunning all the same, poor Miss Darcy couldn't even get out of van, she would've blown away I'm sure!

Then onto sand side bay,  we had a little run & Ive got to say my true love of beaches continue, and wow has Scotland not failed me, Its incredible Gold sands, and almost see through waters of green and blue.

Absolutely Love these Scottish Highlands, we were all exhausted today so onwards to our next sleep over.

A tucked away, recluse a tiny secluded wooded area , Shelpick.

Wow what a perfect little gem it was... so much history and not a sole in sight. it was All ours for the night, was so calm, and just look at how beautiful this gem was. no words needed id say.

So Tomorrow Mr P has a surprise location for me...and I do like surprises, so I will keep you all in suspense. come and join me in episode 3 of our NorthCoast 500 Adventure in Georgie.
