NORTHCOAST 500 PART1

Our First Huge Adventure in Georgie...

What we need to do first is Pack her up...

we're getting good at this

I think we've got this sussed
even Miss Darcy has her spot...
And after a false start we are officially off.....
Our first point we wanted to get to is the Yorkshire National Park, which is stunning.  We've been planning for literally weeks now, and Mr P has been studying his maps so Im expecting his explorers hat to be on , which Im sure it is, ooh another little tip is always have an ole fashioned Paper map, google maps is fab, hey I'm the first to say look on google, but remember your going to be in remote places, so no wifi, or signal some of the time. which lets be honest is part of the reason we all love this Van life, Right!

So a few hours and Voila...
What a spot, just on the edge of the national park in a little village called INGLETON FALLS
, we were the only sleepovers that night, and to wale up to this sunrise and see the sunset, was a perfect start to our trip. And I even managed to do some yoga in the morning.

we packed up and started off again.  During our many evenings of Northcoast 500 planning, (yes there were many nights of planning) we decided on so many miles per day, and left some for different eventualities , you never know what's round the corner.
So our next port of call for day 2 was to cross the Scottish border and onto LOCH LOMAND, Which , as I previously said I really want this to be an honest review of our travels. So for us unfortunately its a Thumbs down for Loch Lomand, it was extremely touristy, maybe that's your thing?, But for us its peace all the way.  And as we wanted to wild camp as much as possible , it really wasn't made easy here.  All of the areas around the Lake is Parking permits, which make it almost as expensive as going to as campsite. so, although the Lake is very Beautiful, we quickly packed up in the morning 7am to be precise  and vacated. to find a perfect brekkie stop... which was simple perfect .

Mirror images a pictation of the perfect stillness and Slow Journey we love.

Breakfast was Perfect ...

And Now onto somewhere I really wanted to visit, which was slightly off our route, but I felt we couldn't come all this way and not see.  Its a bucket list place for me, so was definitely a must, and Mr P couldn't say no.

The Beautiful Rugged Isle of Skye. ( just open the link and see!)

It really didn't disappoint, The rawness, the vastness, and the simplicity, for now I think this is the closest to my dream of visiting Scandinavia , this is what I imagine it to be like, driving for miles seeing no one and looking up to see the stunning hills , with the sky wrapping around the mountain,  can you tell I'm in love?

THE perfect night time spot was discovered by Mr P, no app used, just a map.
ROAG-LOCH BRACKERDALE WE HAD OUR FIST SOARING SUNSET , GLOWING ON THE FLOWING WATERS.
AND LOOK AT OUR MORNING VIEW... I could have sat here with my morning cuppa for ever...

just realised I caught Miss Darcy having a pee ooops!

AND THIS LITTLE BEAUTY IS OUR LITTLE PUB  The OLE INN   IN A TINY VILLAGE, CARBOST, WITH A HEAVENLY VIEW TO THE OUTSIDE... WITH ITS RUSTIC CHARM AND PHOTO OPPORTUNITY ON THE LOCH.

THE FOOD WAS HOMEMADE,  absolutely delicious , I recommend the fish chowder and homemade bread.

Isle of Skye you Did not fail me, I only wish we had longer , Georgie will bring us back to you soon , very soon.

We very slowly drove over the bridge , looking back on our new found friend. Onwards to our next Adventure

EN ROUTE TO START THE OFFICIAL ROUTE OF THE NORTHCOAST 500
